Scholarships
Teamsters Joint Council 10 New England offers 10 scholarships annually in the amount of $1,000.00 to the children of Teamsters members. Eligibility requirements are that the Local Union members must be in "good standing" and the payment of dues is current. The scholarships are available only for the year that the student is graduating high school and plans to attend college.

Steward Training
As part of its ongoing effort to continuously strengthen our great Union, Joint Council 10 offers Steward Training. This can be done on an individual Local Union basis, or on a larger scale if necessary.

Steward Training provides the information necessary to be an effective Steward. Topics will range from general steps of discipline to grievance resolution. The Steward will also be made aware of the method of dealing with such controversial issues as Harassment, Discrimination, and Violence in the workplace.

Strike Force
The Joint Council 10 Strike Force is a volunteer group of active members. The Strike Force participates in a variety of events such Job Actions, Community Events, Strike Lines, and is a visible reminder of the collective strength of Teamsters Joint Council 10.

Once a member has joined the Strike Force they are contacted by telephone or Union Bulletin Board for upcoming events.

Educational Training
The Joint Council offers on request, Educational Training. This training is designed for officers and members of each Local Union affiliated with Joint Council 10. The Local Education Coordinator (LEC) is taught various methods of teaching and education, so that they may in turn educate the members of their own Local Union.

The topics that are generally discussed range from basic teaching techniques to grievance resolution. Joint Council 10 is member oriented, and the Executive Board of the Joint Council is committed to reaching every member. It is important that the membership be aware of their rights, and more importantly what resources are at their disposal as we fight for better contracts and working conditions Union wide.
